Hello!

Hi everybody, and welcome to my new website! I promise faithfully (well at least that’s the intention) to keep this section full of interesting and varied information. Of course, I’m hoping that lots of interesting and varied events occur, unless I will have to start making them up.

I have just returned from Ecuador (this is not made up), where I joined my friend Romy Whacker. Romy started a charity there 10 years ago called “Ecuasur” (www.ecuasur.ch). We visited projects that had been funded by the organization and I played a couple of shows there. One of the shows was in the south, a place called Vilcabamba, a place where the locals all live to a ripe old age of 100! Even the Incas figured this out and had holiday homes there. My second show was in the German school in Quito. Fascinating place Ecuador, full of extreme beauty and, at times, poverty. Wonderful people, great hospitality, but very scary drivers, oh and don’t go if you love Guinea pigs! The Ecuadorians also love Guinea pigs, but usually smothered in ketchup, with a little green salad on the side.

I have a new album that is being released just for the European tour. It’s my very first live album recorded with my brilliant band last year in Hamburg. The concert was originally a live radio broadcast, but after we listened to the tapes we decided to remix and remaster, I am really pleased with the outcome. There are also three new songs on the album, as well as some old favorites.

As I sit here writing this, the leaves are falling and the ones that still cling on for dear life are turning red and orange, the fall is a wonderful season here on Vancouver Island. Although in my mind now I am getting ready for my five-week tour of Europe. Starting off in Germany, heading down to Switzerland and finishing up in the UK. The best part will be meeting up with my daughter Millie, who is currently in Europe having a gap year.

Bye for now,

P
